It wasnt her intention to come here. No. She had just wanted a simple walk, yet her paws had led her here. Sagestar stared at the old red barn. It had been recently taken care of it seemed. The door was opened slightly and the smell of cats and mice filled the air. Sagestar's mouth watered at the smell of mouse. Moving forward, the leader pushed her way in. "Skybreeze? You here?" Sagestar meowed. A yowl sounded and a large muscular dark ginger tabby tom landed in front of Sagestar, causing her to jump back in surprise. The tom growled but he stopped when he realized it was only Sagestar. "Sagestar! Its been moons!" The tom greeted. He then sniffed the air, smelling blood. "What happened?" He asked, his eyes widening in surprise. Sagestar wasnt one to tell a sob story, so she made it short. "I see..." The tom frowned. "So what brings you here?" The tom meowed. "I really didnt intend to come to be honest..." Sagestar meowed as the tom frowned even more. "...but my paws led me here, so I thought I would say hi." She meowed.

"Russet?" A voice broke the air. A pointy earred she-cat appeared, her head popping over some hay. "Russet? Who is--- Sagestar!" The she-cat meowed as she lept over the hay and down the ladder to her friend. The she-cat smelt faintly of airclan as she touched her nose to her friend. "Skybreeze, you look well." Sagestar purred, sitting down awkwardly. Skybreeze did look well. Her fur was sleek and shiny, and her figure was slender, but she was well-fed. "Mom, whats--- Aunt Sagestar!" A voice filled the air as a little brown tom followed after his mother. The brown tom ran towards Sagestar and tackled her. "Aunt Sagestar! Why havent you come to visit me sooner?" He meowed. "Im sorry Nettlekit, I would've but you know how my clan loves to be mouse-brains." Sagestar purred. "Yeah! Bees in their brains!" He purred as he clambered off of Sagestar and ran to his mother, intertwining between her front legs.

Skybreeze gently licked his forehead and he purred. "I bet you're hungry, Sagestar." Russet meowed. "No i'---" Her stomach caterwauled, much to her dismay. Purrs of amusement erupted from the three barncats. "Ill be back soon." With that, the ginger tom took off into the darkness. Nettlekit lept behind some hay to play while Skybreeze settled down beside Sagestar, her paws tucked against her chest. "How is everyone?" Skybreeze whispered. "Their fine, you remember Cherrykit right?" Sagestar meowed. Skybreeze's eyes lit up. She remembered the fiesty little kit and hers sibilings from when she was a warrior. "She became an apprentince not many moons ago...but she lost her eye yesterday." A whimper came from Skybreeze. "I gave her to Gorsefang to train." Skybreeze meowed. "Gorsefang? You mean he became a warrior?" Skybreeze asked in surprise. "Yes." Sagestar nodded. "A kittypet came into the clan and we took him in." Sagestar meowed. Skybreeze's tail flicked in annoyance. A purr of amusement erupted from Sagestar. "Has Flowertail even taken a look at your wound?" Skybreeze meowed. "No...I havent seen her."

Sagestar shook her head. "Theres some cobwebs and some water nearby." Skybreeze stood up, watching her friend. "Wait here." Skybreeze then dashed off, soon returning with a human object, she had heard it called a cloth or something. Skybreeze took the cloth in her teeth and began to wipe her friend's blood off. She then applied the cobwebs and discarded the cloth. "Rest here for now, if we see any of your clanmates, we'll tell them you're here." Skybreeze meowed. "Thank you, Skybreeze." With that, Sagestar's eyes became heavy and she drifted to sleep.

About half way out of camp, Tigerpaw realized that following Sagestar might not be the best course of action. However, the fatal flaw of all kittypets, curioisity for the unknown, egged him on, despite the limp in his step. He hadn't liked the small of the poppy seeds she'd told him to eat, and he hadn't. 'I'm just following her because I'm her apprentice.' he reasoned with himself. 'Aprrentices have to follow their mentors.' he nodded, agreeing with his own logic. ~*Whatever helps you sleep at night.*~ the same voice from before purred, and Tigerpaw immediately went on guard. 'That same voice?' he hissed in his thoughts, then kept moving forward.

He rounded over a large hill, then stayed on top to watch her progress. His tail swishes to and fro, and when he saw her disappear into a farmhouse, well, he was prett damn confused. "What does she have to do with farmcats?" he murmered softly, standing and leaping down the hill. Tigerpaw had thought she was pretty distasteful of him when he was dragged into the clan, and now she was visiting some farm cats?

He slowed down as he neared the barn, voices and scents reaching his ears. The warm smell of hay invaded his nostrils, almost making him sneeze, but mainly bringing back memories of innocent kithood. The thoughts made him smile, even as the voices faded away. He stepped into the barn, gazing around as a dual sense of Deja vu and meloncolly hit him hard.

Sagestar laid near the entrance, her body heavy with sleep. Silence filled the air before Skybreeze came running at Tigerpaw, attempting to barrel into him. If this worked, she would place one paw on his throat and the other on his shoulder. She would then hiss, "Who are you? What right do you have to trespass?" She would hiss in his ear.

Sensitive ears alerted him to the female's progress, and he managed to move out of the way enough so that, even though she still slammed into his flank, only his back end went down. He still couldn't stop the yowl of pain that ripped through his muzzle, however, as his still wounded body took yet another beating, and he looked down to see the fang-hole had reopened, blood spilling over the cobwebs Sagestar had placed there.

He looked up, wondering how long this cat had been a barncat. Even as a kitten, the first thing he'd learned about a barn was that all sound traveled, and it was easy to make, thus you had to be light on your feet. "Im Sagestar's apprentice, Tigerpaw." he hissed after finally finding his senses through the sheer pain in his flank. He heaved it up off the ground, turning with a thicker limp than before.

Sagestar's head rose and the sound of his yowling broke the air. "Tigerpaw?! What do you think your doing here?!" She hissed. Skybreeze growled, backing off and leaping to her friend's side. "Isnt he a bit old to be a apprentince?" Skybreeze meowed. "Hes the kittypet I told you about." Sagestar murmured. "Ah." Skybreeze sat down, her tail wrapping around her paws. "Tigerpaw, this is Skybreeze, she used to be a warrior of Airclan." Sagestar meowed. Soon a growl ripped the air and Russet appeared, dropping the hoard of mice beside Sagestar. "What is a kittypet doing in my barn?" He snarled. "Peace, Russet." Sagestar meowed, looking to the tom who snorted but moved to his mate's side. It didnt take long for Nettlekit to appear. The small brown kit came running out and to his parents. "Mom, Dad, whos that?" Nettlekit asked, his whiskers twitching with curiousity. "Just a kittypet." Skybreeze reassured. "A kittypet?!" Nettlekit asked, eyes wide. "Hes a airclan apprentince now, Skybreeze." Sagestar purred in amusement.

Kittypet, kittypet, kittypet, is that all these racdrops saw?! He bristled and began to growl, clearly upset. His eyes, normally a soft gold, were liquid fire. Anger coursed through his veins, making him hostile because, obviously he'd -chosen- his life, and obviously he had -wanted- to be nothin play a play thing. No, he obviously hadn't been a barn cat, and he obviously wasn't there now, still trying to prove himself when it was obviously so welcomed.

He opened his mouth to reply, with malice on the tip of his rough tongue, when he felt the soothing presence of air, and the smell of Lillie and warm summer. ~*Careful, dear one. Fire destroys in little time, while water and air take years to bring it back.*~ the different things combined eventually calmed him a bit, and he bit his tongue, thinking of his next words.

Clearing his throat, his tail lashed, and Tigerpaw's eyes narrowed. "Apologies. This -kittypet- just wanted to make sure you were okay, Sagestar, since you didn't stay to see Flowertail for your injuries." his tail lashed again, and he gazed over the barn cats, before looking at the one who'd brought the mice. "Nice haul, but there's a bigger stash in the loft." he said, ears twitching. He turned, beginning to leave.

"Who said you had to leave, Tigerpaw?" Sagestar asked, challenging him. Skybreeze herself flicked her ears as Russet let out a low snarl. "Russet." Skybreeze meowed softly. The tom stopped and sat down, his tail wrapping around his paws. Nettlekit moved away from his mother and clambered over to Tigerpaw. "I'm Nettlekit! Who are you?" Nettlekit purred, his eyes wide and curious.

He'd been fully prepaired to ignore her words and simply leave, but as hensaw walking away, a kit blocked his steps. He stopped, right front paw in the air to keep from stepping on Nettlekit. Eyes moved over the kit, and his ears pinned faintly, thinking of the kits he would have had back home, to that one female who always use to giggle about their great lineages crossing.

"Tigerpaw." he answered eventually, watching the small thing. He place. His paw down, and after a moments hesitation began towalk, perhappes a bit slower this time around.

Nettlekit stared with wide eyes. "Tigerpaw? After the great cats?" He meowed in awe. A smile lit Sagestar's features at Nettlekit's curiousity. She wondered if Skybreeze ever considered letting him to come live in the clans...probably not.

Once again, he was stopped. The male looked down to the kit that skittered back to the front of his body, and his tail flicked, whiskers twitching. "I suppose, though you'd have to ask Sagestar, she named me." he meowed in response. His name use to be Mitch, which was somehow short for CR's Fly Over Michigan. He supposed Mitch was sort of like Michigan, though he had no idea what Michigan -was-.

Nettlekit purred. "Show me some moves!" Nettlekit meowed as he lept up and down. "I want to see some battle moves!" Russet shifted at this, his ears pinning. Skybreeze gave her mate a comforting look.

"I think that would be more for your father or mother to teach you, sorry kit." he said, clearing his throat softly. He could almost feel the kitten's disappointment, so he offered a small smile. "Sorry kid, but it's been made obvious that kittypets aren't allowed here." he cast his eyes back.

Nettlekit frowned. "Awww..." Tail and ears drooped, the young tom moved back to his mother. Sagestar stood up shakily. "You shouldnt move." Skybreeze meowed. "Ill be fine. I should get back to camp." Sagestar laid her tail over Skybreeze's shoulder before limping to Tigerpaw. "Lets go." She meowed as she limped out of the barn.
